Last night I took a plumeria bath and it was heavenly.
It all started when my puppy and I were walking our usual morning trail. All of the the sudden I was like, WOW, look at that baby Plumeria tree!” I bent down to smell these sacred flowers and got super high. Prior to my amazing friend and colleague Chris Luth, I didn’t know how aphrodisiac and divine smelling these flowers are. He was the first person to share with me that these flowers have been used in indigenous Hawaiian sex rituals. Since then I’ve had a deep appreciation, love and respect for these sacred flowers.
Even though the baby Plumeria tree was about 4 inches high, it had the most glorious and alive looking plumerias blooming, probably about 7 or so. To the flowers I was like, “You got it going on like THAT and you’re only 4 inches high? Damn I can only imagine the flowers you will give birth to in your life!” lol It seriously could have easily made the perfect bridal flower arrangement without even trying to be that.
A few hours later when my puppy and I went out again for our afternoon stroll I saw the same baby Plumeria tree but something/someone clipped it off. 🙁 It looked like a someone though. It was too perfect for an animal to cut it in my opinion. I was immediately sad because it was so divine and full of life. How could someone just strip its life just like that and for what? And then leave it hanging there alive dying? Why? I needed answers!
Two minutes later I decided to plant this baby tree and as soon as possible. Then after planting it, I felt the inspiration to use the flowers that were on the verge of dying for my Day 2 Moon bath. After all, it would help the rest of the baby tree to plant and ground with less dead weight to carry. It felt like a Moonstacy (ecstatic experiences during a women’s moon cycle) offering at this point too.
I’ve been on my moon bleeding and purging loads of emotional blahs. What’s so cute or at least to me is that my puppy is also bleeding. She got her first moon last week! It’s officially Red Tent Headquarters over here, a sacred and safe space for females to bleed and just be women or in this case, feminine lol <3!
Without even realizing, Plumerias have so many health, peace and euphoric benefits. I thought I’d share a few with you.
“Analgesic, Aphrodisiac, Astringent, Antibacterial, Antidepressant, Anti-diarrhea, Anti-inflammatory, Anti-oxidant, Emollient”
I also came across “Plumeria Oil promotes peace, tranquility, and relaxation. Offering soothing relaxation to the muscles of the body as well as the nerves, this oil is believed to offer internal peace and awareness as well as heightening external awareness.”
It makes total sense why these flowers have been used in sacred sex rituals in an exotic aphrodisiac inspired place like Hawaii.
These healing benefits were so perfect for me during my moon bath. Yess plsss! I love when the universe provides!! Sometimes nature has a way of seducing us to pay attention and receive the love she’s providing so gracefully. Are you paying attention? Are you listening to the subtle way she is giving to you here and now? Are you open? Are you present?
Tomorrow my interview airs for “Wise Woman’s Way to Love, Sex & Vitality Telesummit “ in which I share my favorite tantric breathing ritual that keeps me the most present and connected to everything around me.
